Engineering Support
Be the backbone behind BioMar’s innovative engineering operations
Are you passionate about keeping operations running smoothly while supporting a team that drives sustainability and innovation in aquaculture? As our new Engineering Support, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining and improving the systems that keep BioMar moving. This is your opportunity to work at the heart of our production processes while developing your skills in a dynamic and meaningful environment.
Support our success through hands-on problem solving and collaboration
In this role, you’ll assist our engineering and maintenance team with a range of tasks aimed at ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations. You’ll be directly involved in store and inventory management, supporting contractors on-site, and delivering improvements that matter. Your work will help us maintain high-performing equipment and a safe, functional site for everyone.
Execute planned and preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and enhance equipment performance
Support reactive maintenance and troubleshooting activities to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
Manage stores and inventory, including sourcing components, raising purchase orders, and keeping stock organised
Assist in coordinating contractor visits, ensuring safety protocols are followed and information is accurately logged
Help maintain our CMMS system, ensuring asset data and inventory records are up to date
Bring your practical mindset and technical know-how
You’re someone who thrives on solving problems, staying organised, and supporting a team to deliver outstanding results. You have a strong foundation in engineering and a genuine interest in improving systems and workplace practices. Whether it’s tracking down a fault or making sure the right part is in stock, you take ownership and pride in your work.
A recognised qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering (HNC / HND or equivalent) - must-have
Valid driver’s licence and right to work in the UK - must-have
Health & safety awareness including knowledge of permits and risk assessments - must-have
Familiarity with systems such as SCADA, CMMS, and maintenance dashboards - nice-to-have
Confident using Microsoft Excel for managing logs, inventory, and tracking KPIs - nice-to-have
The role is based on-site and does not involve direct reports, though you’ll collaborate closely with other departments. Occasional travel to coordinate contractor work may be required.
Grow your skills in a role that makes a difference
At BioMar, you’ll join a supportive and collaborative team where your ideas and actions have real impact. You’ll gain exposure to modern engineering tools and processes and play an active role in improving how we operate. We offer opportunities for learning and development, a strong safety culture, and the chance to be part of something bigger - feeding the future of sustainable seafood.
