Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Windows / End User Computer EngineerGuildford, Surrey (Hybrid)£55,000 - £60,000 + bonus Are you ready to join our Enterprise IT business and work on cutting-edge application support and projects? We are seeking a skilled End User Computer Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will manage and monitor Linux desktop services and their supporting infrastructure components, ensuring they meet our defined Service Level Agreements within an ITIL Framework.What you'll be doing : Senior Infrastructure EngineerOversee the end-to-end process for building and maintaining Linux desktop images (Almalinux, RHEL). Create and develop best practices and procedures for Linux environmentsProvide support for Infrastructure, including networks, Linux, and Windows systems and applicationsMaximize desktop performance by monitoring, troubleshooting, and scheduling upgradesUndertake fault investigations in local and remote environments using multiple information sourcesSecure Linux systems by establishing and enforcing policies, defining, and monitoring access; support and administer firewall and switched network environments in line with IT security policiesCollaborate with the team to develop solutions approved by Architecture and deployed into through-life supportResearch problems and issues, gather information from various sources, and review defects on platforms or assemblies to fully understand and resolve problems Your skills and experiences : Senior Infrastructure EngineerEssential : Proficient in VMware (vCenter / ESXi, Horizon, Nexus)Expertise in Linux operating systems, particularly Almalinux and RHELStrong understanding of automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Packer, AWX / Tower)Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, etc.Experience in security hardening (CIS benchmarks) Desirable : Familiarity with Aria Operations (vROPs), LibreNMSExperience with HashiCorp tools (Packer, Terraform) and scripting languages (Python)Working knowledge of Bamboo / BitbucketExperience with Confluence / JiraFamiliarity with ServiceNowBasic knowledge of Windows systemswTrellix / SEP), Tanium, and Backup / BCP / DR strategies
