Job Title : Design Technology Teacher Location : PontefractSalary Range :  £140 – £190 per day (Depending on experience)Start : ASAPContract : Day-to-day / Long-term, Part-time / Full-timeGSL Education are recruiting a Design Technology Teacher to work in a dynamic and welcoming school in the beautiful areas of Pontefract. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge and passion for the subject, as well as a commitment to supporting the department's day-to-day operations.As a Design Technology Teacher, you will inspire creativity and innovation by teaching students’ practical skills in design, engineering, and technology. You will guide students through projects, fostering problem-solving abilities and hands-on learning experiences.About this Role : Primary duties include teaching Design & Technology students of KS3, KS4 and KS5, lesson planning, and developing medium- and long-term plans.Implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated curriculum for students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate.Evaluating the ability of individual students, putting together BTEC materials for exams, and helping students with special needs.Support students by delivering differentiated Design Technology lessons that are accessible to students with varying special needs.Contribute and engage in extra-curricular Design and Technology activities.Take part in staff training days, staff meetings and parent’s evenings.Design Technology Teacher requirements : A UK teaching qualification namely e.g. PGCE in Design and Technology or B.Ed with QTS.Proven experience teaching Design Technology.Interested in children as individuals, in how they learn and in a collaborative approach to learning.Aware of appropriate strategies for mixed-attainment teaching and adapt to the varying demands of each classroom situation.Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for a new one.What We Offer : Competitive salary and benefits.Access to professional development and training.A supportive, dedicated consultant to assist with your career needs.If you are an enthusiastic and compassionate ‘Design Technology Teacher’ ready to inspire and support students in their learning journey, we encourage you to apply and join our client school in Pontefract!Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
