Job description

Design Engineer within MU Estimating required for my client based within Ellesmere Port.

The successful engineer will need to have both experience within design and estimating and be proficient within installation and commissioning networks, for a range of clients.

Design Engineer - MU Estimating Position Overview

  • Undertaking outline designs for tendering purposes.
  • Detailed designs for domestic, commercial, and industrial developments up to 33KV.
  • Provide technical support for business development & construction department.
  • Review external design elements.
  • Offer full design support to business development, construction teams and clients.
  • Provide solutions for projects ensuring compliance with relevant specifications including NERS.
  • Estimating Enquires.
  • Prepare submission tender documentation.
  • Liaise with adopting asset owner (DNO, IDNO, GT / IGT & Water Networks).
  • Being involved with audits to ensure the company maintains their accreditations.

Design Engineer - MU Estimating Position Requirements

  • Suitable engineering qualification (Degree / HND or equivalent).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Electrical HV / MV / LV Substation Engineering.
  • Experience in designing / planning LV and HV electrical utility infrastructure and substation design.
  • Knowledge of technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of DNO / IDNO, GT / IGT & Water networks Specifications to including a knowledge of G81 documents and understanding of the current NERS, WIRS & GIRS.
  • Understanding of CDM Regulations and N.R.S.W.A.
  • Flexible and organised to manage workload to meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work proactively on own or as part of a team.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Based within a commutable distance of Ellesmere Port.
  • Full clean UK Driving licence.

    • Design Engineer - MU Estimating Position Remuneration

  • Salary - £35,000 to £55,000 - dependent upon experience and qualifications.
  • Full time position - Monday to Friday.
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Staff Bonus scheme - this is not guaranteed and is based on business performance, best bonus paid to date months' salary and minimum bonus paid to date £250.
