About the role
This is a great opportunity for capable and enthusiastic Junior Marine Operators to join us on 12 months fixed term contracts to help provide a professional and responsive marine service to the Port of Dundee.
Working closely with the Marine Manager, your duties will be split between landside service operations and waterborne operational activities. You will be involved in crewing Pilot and other port vessels for general marine duties, carrying out pre-sailing checks and you will also act as second person on the Pilot vessel when required.
When working on landside operations you will have responsibility for general marine husbandry, provision of water, delivering skips to / from vessels using forklifts and checking that fenders and lifebuoys are in safe working order. You will also ensure that the Pilot landing station, marine office and surrounding areas are kept tidy and free from obstructions at all times.
What are we looking for?
Previous marine operations experience
RYA Powerboat Level 2 qualification is advantageous but not essential RYA Commercial Endorsement would be advantageous however you will be given the opportunity to work towards this as part of your training
Valid fork lift truck licence
Current valid UK driving licence
