Trusted Resource SolutionsDroitwich, England, United KingdomOur client who are a growing manufacturing business based in Droitwich, are seeking a hands-on, solution-focused Financial Controller to lead their finance function. This is a key leadership role, working closely with the Managing Director and senior team to drive financial performance, ensure compliance, and support strategic decision-making.
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our client financial operations. This includes leading the finance team, managing budgets and forecasts, improving financial processes, and ensuring robust financial reporting. You will play a vital role in maintaining financial health and shaping their business strategy.
The salary for this position is up to £65,000 depending on experience. Hours of work are 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, office based.
As the Financial Controller, your key responsibilities will include : Financial Management & Reporting : Lead the production of monthly management accounts, financial statements, and reports for senior leadership. Perform variance analysis, oversee VAT returns, manage cash reconciliations (Sterling and Euro), and maintain the Fixed Asset RegisterBudgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow : Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts aligned with business goals. Manage cash flow and working capital, including producing cash flow forecasts and overseeing AP / AR functions and intercompany transactionsCost Control & Efficiency : Analyse production costs and implement cost-saving initiatives. Monitor bank activity, authorise payments, manage contracts (e.g. IT, utilities), and streamline financial processes to improve efficiencyCompliance & Controls : Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, internal policies, and audit requirements. Lead internal and external audits, enforce robust internal controls, and investigate financial discrepanciesPayroll & HR Finance : Manage payroll processes including PAYE, pensions, weekly wages, and statutory compliance. Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to all relevant regulationsTeam Leadership : Manage and develop a high-performing finance team. Set clear goals, provide support and training, and foster a collaborative and accountable working cultureAs the Financial Controller, you will have : An ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification, with solid experience in a manufacturing or production environmentA proven track record managing finances for businesses of a similar scaleStrong analytical skills with attention to detail and a strategic mindsetExcellent communication skills, able to convey complex information clearlyExperience of using Sage 200 and 50Experience of working as part of a senior management team reporting directly to the Managing DirectorYou may have experience working in any of the following : Finance Manager, Finance Controller, Head of Finance, Chief Financial Officer, Financial Direct, Financial Planning or Accounting Manager or any other similar position
