A strong understanding of child development and safeguarding practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. A valid UK driving license is desirable. Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? Job description
We are seeking compassionate and motivated Children's Home Workers to join a dedicated team in Derby. The successful candidates will provide high-quality care and support to children and young people, promoting their welfare and development in a safe and homely environment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Providing day-to-day care, guidance, and support to children and young people in the home.
- Building positive and trusting relationships with residents, encouraging their social and emotional development.
- Supporting children in their daily routines, including attending school, appointments, and extracurricular activities.
- Assisting with the development and implementation of individualised care plans, ensuring that the needs and preferences of each child are met.
- Maintaining a safe and welcoming environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and safeguarding policies.
- Promoting positive behaviour and managing challenging behaviour effectively and empathetically.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, educators, and healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation, including daily logs and incident reports.
- Participating in staff meetings, training sessions, and supervision to enhance skills and knowledge.
