Are you a trained or aspiring SENDCO looking to work on SLT on a full-time basis from September? Look no further, an exciting challenge awaits!

A fantastic, unique opportunity has presented for an experienced / aspiring SENDCo to work on a full-time basis in a wonderful school in Hyde, Tameside . This is a full-time position from September 2024- July 2025 and will pay M6 with a TLR 2a. This is an exciting and fulfilling role in a school with a higher than average proportion of SEND children. This wonderful opportunity will certainly keep you on your toes and presents a rewarding position where you will play an integral role in the provision and support for SEND across the school.

This 'Good' rated school is led by an experienced Headteacher who is extremely dedicated to her role and proud of the community the school educates. The school is a very rewarding place to work with friendly staff, a supportive environment and warm ethos where everyone shares a vision to ensure children are happy, safe and learning through fun, memorable experiences. The school educates a diverse catchment of children and has strong established links with the community providing a fantastic, well facilitated setting in which to thrive.

About the Role

As SENDCO, you be responsible for leading the strategic development of the special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) policy whilst assessing, planning, and reviewing the effectiveness of interventions. You will liaise with families and outside agencies to support best outcomes for children and must be an effective communicator and team player.

The successful applicant will have the following :

  • Qualified Teacher status with experience in the SENDCo role and all it entails (NASENDCo qualification desirable)
  • The ability to organise, lead and motivate staff and pupils
  • Good organisation and communication skills
  • Be highly motivated and committed to developing pupil potential
  • Be committed to working as part of a team and have a good sense of humour
  • Be able to adapt and respond to challenging situations
  • Be committed to supporting the Christian ethos of the school
  • Be committed to safeguarding all pupils.

This important post will be filled by someone who has an inclusive philosophy, excellent leadership skills and is fully committed to the school community and its children.
