Job Title : Cost Controller

Ionic are currently seeking an experienced Cost Controller to join our clients dynamic team, where you'll manage the financial costing aspects of key steel-focused projects. This role is perfect for a professional with a deep understanding of steelworks.

About the Company :

Join a highly regarded family-owned fabrication company with over four decades of industry experience. Specializing in steelwork contracts up to 1,000 tonnes, this company boasts a reputation for quality and reliability. With more than 25 site teams dedicated to erecting steelwork and fitting metalwork, they are looking for a skilled Site Manager to oversee operations across the North West.

Key Responsibilities :

• Monitor costs daily, weekly, and monthly, ensuring budgets are met and accurate reporting.
• Identify and report cost variances promptly, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure proper cost allocation and control.
• Prepare and submit interim valuations for projects monthly to maintain positive cash flow.
• Negotiate project final accounts and prepare applications for payment.
• Produce internal cost / value reports when required.
• Evaluate and reconcile hours allowed at tender stage with hours worked in fabrication.
• Enter budgets and costings into the company's software system.
• Manage contract-related documentation, including bonds, retentions, and collateral warranties.
• Conduct steel take-offs, measure materials from drawings / specifications, and issue subcontract orders (e.g., decking).
• Attend client pre-construction / start meetings when required.
