JOB TITLE : Head of Women's Goalkeeping

REPORTING LINE : Women's Football Managing Director

DEPARTMENT : Women's Football Management

LOCATIONS : Rangers Training Centre

CONTRACT : Full time, Permanent

THE ROLE

The purpose of this role is to plan, deliver, review and execute the coaching and development of elite female Goalkeepers in the Academy and Women's 1st Team. The staff member will be responsible for the daily coaching of the Women's 1st Team Goalkeeping, as well as overseeing the delivery plan and development strategy of Girls' Academy Goalkeepers as we look to support the creation of high-quality future Goalkeepers at the club.

The post holder will be required to liaise closely with Head of Academy Goalkeeping and Girls’ Academy Manager to ensure continuity between all goalkeeper development at the club, and will be managed directly by the Women’s Football Managing Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsibility for the environment and training for the Women's 1st team Goalkeepers during the week and in game day environments
  • Develop GK sessions and coaching content in line with the club's game model, playing style, and culture and give GKs the opportunity within this structure to maximise their own potential
  • Work closely with the Girls' Academy Manager to ensure the planning of an effective Academy Goalkeeping curriculum, and delivery of sessions as dictated by Scottish Licensing is achieved.
  • Deliver once per week in the Girls' Academy and coordinate the delivery of the further required sessions amongst other GK coaching staff.
  • Motivate and challenge the GKs on a daily basis
  • Undertake detailed planning and session preparation on a daily, weekly, six weekly and annual basis
  • Undertake scouting duties as required
  • Provide management reports as required
  • Ensure that all required data is captured in line with evaluation systems
  • Own the creation and development of a GK coaching syllabus which is age specific and delivered appropriately in line with the Academy and Women's 1st Team philosophy
  • Maintain a working knowledge of best practice in player development and modern developments in the game
  • Attend all coaches' in-service days and contribute where appropriate
  • Be responsible for all equipment utilised during training sessions and matches
  • Adhere to the club's Child Protection Policy
  • Participate in individual Parents Nights for Goalkeepers providing report and feedback to parents and players
  • Continually remain updated on current best practice while participating in courses to continue personal development

THE CANDIDATE

Education & Qualifications :

Essential : GK Licence (A-Licence)

Personal Attributes :

Confident individual with good presence; engaging personality and profile with the ability to be self-composed and patient in all situations; Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, along with very good interpersonal, IT and organisational skills.

An ability to multitask and must have an understanding of the range of functions which make up a positive 1st Team environment.

A modern innovative GK coach with significant experience in an elite player development environment.

The individual must be energetic and enthusiastic and have an ability to captivate the imagination of players at various age groups.

Excellent PowerPoint and presentation skills.
