Your new school Hays are recruiting for a job as a Welsh-Medium Teaching Assistant / Cynorthwyydd Addysgu for a Welsh-Medium Primary School in Cardiff, which prides itself on the positive vision it puts forward for its pupils. The school possesses a fantastic reputation for having a caring and hardworking teaching team which caters for Welsh Speaking students aged between 3 and 11. Within this role you shall be supporting small groups of Key Stage 1 pupils aged 5-7. The school creates and maintains a supportive, inclusive, and happy learning environment where teachers and students alike can thrive and succeed to the best of their abilities.Your new role.The role is confirmed long-term for an immediate start, working 5 days a week. Duties relating to this role include but are not limited to :
- Assisting teachers as they implement their creative lesson plans.
- Supporting Key Stage 1 pupils.
- Working in small groups with children aged 5-7.
- Demonstrating a high level of patience and care when dealing with potentially challenging and disruptive behaviour.
- Creating and maintaining a safe and enjoyable learning environment for pupils.
- Working as part of a close-knit and efficient team with other members of the teaching staff.
What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this role, it is required that you possess at least 40 days of relevant experience over the course of the last 2 – 3 years and must be able to speak Welsh. Some of the key attributes needed for this role include enthusiasm, dedication, and a hardworking nature. Additional skills and attributes include empathy, calmness, problem-solving skills, and the ability to build effective working relationships.
