Location : Cambridge, UK or hybrid with weekly travel to Cambridge

Salary : £44,000 – £46,500 p.a. full-time equivalent, dependent on experience

Basis : Permanent / fixed-term contract; full-time, part-time or flexible

The role

We’re looking for a highly motivated and experienced Marketing Manager to join the Foundation’s expanding Communications and Marketing team. Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for marketing activity for a portfolio of innovative educational products. This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of teachers, volunteers, and learners worldwide.

As a key member of our team, you will be instrumental in driving global growth and impact for our products. You will leverage your strategic marketing expertise to develop and implement campaigns, from concept to execution, with a focus on achieving measurable results. You’ll have product marketing experience and enjoy a data-driven approach where you will research the market, analyse campaign performance, assess ROI, and refine strategies for continuous improvement.

You’ll thrive leading marketing campaigns that truly resonate, starting with a deep understanding of our audience and clear objectives. As a natural project manager and collaborative team player, you'll take ownership of content planning and empower your colleagues by supporting their workflows and prioritisation. Your personable approach, sharp eye for detail, and exceptional communications style will ensure that every project is effective.

We strive to make the Foundation a place where talented people who care about our mission can do the best work of their careers. We have a flexible and collaborative approach to all aspects of our work. If you’re the right person for the job, we’ll make it work for you, and you can be confident that you’ll be working with an exceptional team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and implementation of marketing plans to grow the global reach and impact of our products, ensuring that the plans are well understood across the organisation and tailored to different markets
  • Devise plans for new product and feature releases, which include compelling messaging
  • Monitor and analyse the market and competitor products, messaging, and strategies
  • Develop materials, such as case studies and testimonials, to drive product adoption and usage
  • Identify, brief, and manage international marketing agencies and freelancers
  • Manage projects and stakeholders, working closely with teams across the organisation and with partners
  • Collate and analyse data to measure campaign success
  • Ensure consistent implementation of our brand across key touch points
  • Manage marketing campaign budgets

Experience and personal attributes

We recognise that everyone has the potential for growth, and we welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate that they have some, but not all, of the experience and personal attributes listed here.

  • Knowledge of product marketing and experience in leading product launches
  • Experience of working across multiple regions, localising content, and managing international agencies
  • Experience of working across all marketing disciplines and channels, and a comprehensive understanding of social media platforms
  • The ability to analyse and interpret data to evaluate campaign success and ROI, and make recommendations for improvements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and copywriting skills
  • Outstanding project management skills
  • The ability to work under pressure and to prioritise key tasks
  • Experience of working in education and / or for a charity
  • About us

Established in 2008 and first known for our product — the wildly successful Raspberry Pi computer — the Foundation has developed education programmes, learning experiences, and products that are helping millions of young people learn vital new knowledge and skills.

Through Code Club, we support the world’s largest network of free informal computing clubs for young people. Tens of thousands of educators have taken our online courses, and millions of people use our free online learning resources. To deepen our understanding of how young people learn about computing and how to create with digital technologies, we conduct academic research, and we use that knowledge to increase the impact of our work and advance the field of computing education.

Across all of our work, we work hard to engage young people who come from backgrounds that are traditionally underrepresented in the field of computing or who experience educational disadvantage. We work all over the world, with teams based in the UK, Ireland, North America, and India, and partnerships with mission-aligned organisations in over 40 countries.

We are at the forefront of the global movement to help young people learn about computing and digital making. You can read more about our mission, values, and goals in our Annual Review 2023 and our Strategy 2022–2025.

    Benefits

In addition to competitive salaries, we offer a range of benefits for all of our colleagues, including :

  • 25 days’ annual leave initially, growing to 30 days after five years service
  • Company-wide close down for 3 days at the end of the year
  • Generous company pension scheme with 8% employer and 4% employee contributions
  • Private healthcare
  • Life assurance and long-term illness insurance policy
  • Investment in professional development and learning
  • Flexible work hours as needed, to fit around childcare or other commitments
  • Generous family leave policy
  • Cycle-to-work scheme and season ticket loan
  • Timetable for applications

    Closing date : 12 March 2025, 9.00am GMT

Phone screen : Week commencing 10 March

    First-round interview : Week commencing 17 March

    Second-round interview : Week commencing 31 March

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. If successful in the selection process, you will be required to undergo a background check to confirm that you are a suitable person to work with children. Further background checks will be made at regular intervals thereafter.
