Support WorkerDaisy Nook Recruitment is proud to be working alongside a privately run residential home for children (10-16 years old), with homes based Burton on Trent, Staffordshire. The homes are for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Our client is looking for Support Workers to join them on a full time, permanent basis. This is a great career opportunity, joining a growing service right at a pivotal point.The salary is between £24,375 - £29,175, dependent on experience. The hours are 42 a week on a 4 day rota basis, weekends and sleep ins will be required.Duties and Responsibilities of the Support WorkerTo work with children and young people according to the individuals needs, providing focussed work as planned and directed.To assist in the co-ordination of activities within the Unit and ensure that they are well managed and produce safe and consistent care.To be involved in and organise activities which are in the best interests and meet the needs of those looked after.Training & Development.Administration and report writing.Ensure security of the House, including contents, confidential records, cash, keys, furniture and equipment, residents’ clothing and possessions.To assist the Manager in attending to the health of the children, arranging medical and dental examinations, and maintaining high standards of hygiene within the home.Participate in training courses as arranged and undertake professional training if the opportunity is offered though secondment.Observe confidentiality at all times in relation to the Home and its residents, recognising the vulnerability of the residents.Must have : Qualifications and Experience Qualified to NVQ Level 3A minimum of 12 months experience working within a children's residential serviceKnowledge of child care legislation & regulations Human growth and developmentAssessment & care planning process Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Fire RegulationsBasis understanding of Children's RightsIf you have the right skills and experience please submit your CV
