Teaching Assistant – SEMH Support
Location : Sarisbury | Start Date : September
Pay : £13.75 per hour (paid weekly) | Contract : Full-Time, Term-Time Only
A supportive all-boys secondary school in the Sarisbury area is looking for Teaching Assistants to join the team in September. The school works with pupils who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and may display challenging behaviour or need extra help with emotional regulation and engagement.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people, especially those who need extra support to succeed in school. You’ll be working closely with teachers and pupils, helping with lessons, supporting behaviour, and building positive relationships.
What You’ll Be Doing :
Supporting pupils 1 : 1 and in small groups
Helping manage behaviour in a calm and consistent way
Encouraging self-confidence, resilience, and social skills
Assisting with lesson activities and classroom routines
Supervising pupils during transitions and break times
What You’ll Need :
Experience with children or young people, especially those with SEMH or behavioural needs
A patient, calm, and positive approach
Good teamwork and communication skills
A Child Workforce Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to get one at your own cost
