Job Opportunity : Self-Employed Personal Assistant

Please Note : This role is a private arrangement with a person or family seeking support. You will not be employed by Humans Cornwall but will work directly with the individual or their family. The role is funded privately by the family / person or via a Direct Payment from Cornwall Council.

Location : Bodmin

A gentleman in the Bodmin area is seeking a patient and experienced Personal Assistant to support him at home with his daily needs. He has a strong passion for horses and enjoys playing board games at home.

Support Responsibilities :

Assist with transfers and mobility

Provide support with strip washing, shaving, oral health care, and toileting

Carry out skin checks and apply creams as required

Prepare and serve meals and drinks of choice

Administer medication throughout the day

Support with outings for meals and social visits with friends or family

Perform necessary household tasks to maintain safety and comfort

Work alongside the family’s PA to ensure consistent and safe care

Engage in activities to support cognitive function, such as word-finding exercises

Rate and Hours : Hourly Rate : £15.84

Hours per Week : 9–36 hours

Schedule : 9am – 6 : 30pm (Flexibility with finish time)

• Working Pattern –
• Required for 2 or 3 days per week depending on needs
• Rotas will be done 4 weeks in advance,
• Within the 2 / 3 days you will be required to work every other Friday.

Essential Criteria :

Strong time management and organisational skills

Eligibility to work in the UK

Public Liability Insurance (if self-employed)

Valid DBS Check

Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own car

Good communication skills, including experience with non-verbal communication
