Job Title : SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location : Just outside Blackburn, Lancashire
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have experience working with children in educational settings and a qualification related to supporting teaching and learning? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
Position Overview :
We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team just outside Blackburn, Lancashire. The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification, such as Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning, and demonstrable experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), SEMH, or challenging behavior.
Responsibilities :
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEMH needs, assisting them with their learning and emotional development.
- Implement behavior management strategies to support students in managing their emotions and behaviors effectively.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and record students' progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing interventions as necessary.
- Support students during transitions between activities and settings, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
