Job description
Warehouse Operative / Forklift Truck Driver
Our established and well-known client based on the outskirts of Shrewsbury is looking for a full-time, temporary to permanent warehouse operative with an FLT Licence, to join their busy team.
You will be part of this role accurately picking all orders for supply to our Depots, operating a forklift as required, taking care to adhere to all necessary safety standards, loading and unloading delivery vehicles safely and efficiently, and putting away all incoming goods in an organised manner.
In this varied role, you will also be reporting any anomalies in stocks or low levels of goods, maintaining good housekeeping in the warehouse and keeping it clean and tidy always, maintaining a safe working environment, participating in any duties as may be necessary in the interests of health and safety, including COSHH compliance, spillage clean-up, and safe manual handling, servicing any warehouse customers in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner, and playing a key role in stocktaking activities.
Person Specification
- Be able to conduct a manual handling role, and be able to lift 25kg in a safe manner
- Possess an in-date Counterbalance or Reach Forklift Truck licence (essential)
- Be self-motivated and can work from own initiative
- Demonstrate strong accuracy levels
- Be flexible in approach to working hours
- Have excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Be able to demonstrate previous experience of working in a fast-paced environment
Monday-Friday (rotating shift pattern of 6.00am-2.30pm & 10.00am-6.30pm)
The hourly rate is £12 / hour for a candidate with both valid counterbalance and reach licenses, or £11.50 / hour for a candidate with either a valid counterbalance or reach licence.
