Social Work Resources has an exciting new opportunity for enthusiastic individuals. We seek to appoint 1 suitable candidate to the post of Technology Assistant (full time 35 hours) for a fixed term period of 6 months.
There are approximately 7,000 community alarm service users across South Lanarkshire who will be directly affected by the decision of telecommunication companies to switch off the public switched telephone network (PSTN) by January 2027.
The core purpose of the role is to carry out the installation and asset management of digital telecare alarms / peripheral devices in community alarm service users' homes. The role will also require troubleshooting of issues during and following installation and the resolution of any arising. This is a fundamental element of the critical telecare programme to ensure continuity of service and protect service users from risk and harm.
The post holder will be required to undertake the following tasks :
- Conduct visits to service users' homes to install and test digital telecare alarms and peripheral equipment.
- Use appropriate technology to input captured information from home visits into SWiSplus social work management system.
- Visit service users at home and resolve any associated community alarm equipment faults.
- Support the Council's Environmental and Sustainability agenda through effective management of telecare assets by removing alarm units and peripherals that are no longer required and recycling and re-issuing the equipment to other identified service users.
An SVQ2 in Social Care is desirable and the ability to travel throughout South Lanarkshire is essential. The TEC team and the role of the Technology Assistant are constantly evolving with technological innovations. If you're seeking a new challenge and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
