Job description

Some of our iconic projects include the Corinthia Hotel, Churchills Old War Office, The Ned and many more!We build homes, offices, hotels, schools, medical centres, parks, playgrounds – every facility our great city needs. And we do it with passion. With sensitivity. With style!The key function of the Appointed Person is to take responsibility for all aspects of lifting on the projects they are appointed to. You will be expected to carry out occasional Slinging duties.The Project : A £50m RC Frame Residential development of 161 flats across 3 blocks with associated amenities and roof gardens.Blocks vary from 8 Stories to 12 stories that overlook the River Thames.Main Responsibilities :
- Assist the team in planning for any Tower Crane, and lifting arrangements for the project.
- Review and assist in the production of Lift Plans across the project.
- Control all lifting internally and externally.
- Manage installation and rigging of any mobile cranes or tower cranes.
- Ensure the lift plan in use is adequate and easy accessible to relevant staff.
- Ensure independent LOLER thorough examination reports of all lifting equipment is carried out.
- Maintain all common lifesaving equipment and ensure weekly inspections are carried out.
- Responsible for ensuring that material movement to and from the workface does not cause damage to the works, the workforce or the public.
- Specifying and managing LOLER Register used by lifting team and ensuring this is monitored by the site lifting team.
- Ensure that Lifting operations are carried out safely by trained personnel and in a legally compliant manner
- Be capable of managing a team of operatives, including taking any necessary disciplinary action.
- Understand the roles of standard crane operatives : Crane Driver, Crane Rigger, Slingers, Crane Supervisors
- Ensuring safe lifting operations across all projects they are involved in.
- No delays due to inadequate lifting teams.We are looking for :
- CPCS Appointed Person (A61) Training
- Blue CPCS (minimum A62 if A61 is being worked to)
- Crane Supervisor Training
- SMSTS
- NVQ Diploma LV5
- Minimum 5 Years Lifting Experience
