Job Title :
IT Project Manager (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)
Location : Rochester, Kent.
Salary :
55,000 - £60,000 depending on skills and experience
What you'll be doing :
Co-ordinating, facilitating, organising and delivering all aspects of project management Supporting the IT Project Portfolio Manager and the wider IM&T team for IT project delivery Development and maintenance of detailed project schedules that embrace all elements of the projects in the portfolio Using project management techniques to enable early identification of problems and implementation of mitigation actions, including escalations through the appropriate project escalation route Supporting the project team to ensure all milestones and objectives are achieved Developing processes and training material to support standardisation across project activities Maintaining and updating reports and dashboards for the weekly Project Review Your skills and experiences :
Essential :
Previous Project Management experience within IT Competent knowledge of project management and portfolio management concepts Practiced experience of project management methodologies, processes for control, monitoring and reporting including resource, project, risk, financial and operational performance Desirable :
Competent in creating reporting dashboards, primarily using Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Project Hub Prince 2, APM, ITIL Framework, Life cycle management processes Benefits :

The IM&T team :
BAE Systems Electronic Systems (ES) is responsible for hugely complex and innovative undertakings, and we require an enthusiastic and talented Project Manager to provide maternity cover within the IM&T function. As IT Project Manager you will support the IT Project Portfolio Manager and the wider IM&T team to deliver a portfolio of circa 70 IM&T projects to internal customers. You will have overall responsibility to deliver projects to cost, timescales, quality and customer satisfaction. The projects range from technology and applications to business change focused on transition and transformation aligned to IM&T and ES (UK) strategic road maps. You will shape, mobilise, plan and lead internal projects whilst adhering to internal BAE Systems delivery assurance processes and will be required to collaborate across ES (UK), Shared Services Enterprise IT and within the Portfolio Project Management Office (PMO) to address lessons learned, share good practice and continuously improve project delivery management. You'll be joining a function that's been recognised, including recent award wins at The Lawyer Awards, the Legal Business Awards 2024 and shortlisted in the Financial Times Innovative Lawyer Europe Awards 2024.
