Job Title : Temporary Assistant Management Accountant

Contract Type : Temporary - Sickness Cover

About the Role :

We are working on behalf of a respected and growing business based in Leicester to recruit a Temporary Assistant Management Accountant to provide interim support during a period of staff sickness. This is a hands-on role ideally suited to someone who can hit the ground running and support a small, friendly finance team with month-end processes and day-to-day reporting.

Key Responsibilities :

Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts

Maintain accruals, prepayments, and journal entries

Support balance sheet reconciliations

Aid in cash flow reporting and forecasting

Help with budget tracking and variance analysis

Ensure financial records are accurate and up to date

Provide general support to the Finance Manager during the absence of the permanent team member

About You :

Experienced in a similar accounting / finance role

Comfortable with month-end routines and financial reporting

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Proficient in Excel and commonly used accounting systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, QuickBooks)

Able to adapt quickly and work independently in a fast-paced environment

Available immediately or on short notice
