Working under the direction of our Contracts Coordinator you would be based at our customer premises at Leyland Trucks in Lancashire and work as a Tool Management Centre Engineer . You would be empowered to lead yourself and work with new and emerging assembly tooling and production technologies, be an important contributor to a fantastic agile team and make a name for yourself with two innovative and forward-thinking organizations that are focused on a sustainable tomorrow.
Through daily onsite presence at our customer premises, you will manage and maintain the production assembly tooling. You will receive extensive ongoing training and support to enhance your already existing HNC (or equivalent) skillset.
Schedule and carry out Preventative Maintenance (PM) and calibration of equipment
Troubleshoot and repair damaged equipment.
Highlight areas of improvement i.e. production line assembly processes, assembly and tightening strategies, equipment schedules and reporting.
Re-program and upgrade assembly tools and controller systems.
Provide 2nd line support to the customer when required.
Provide support and expertise for tightening techniques and strategies.
Support software applications for assembly systems and customer operator guidance systems similar to the Atlas Copco software product called Scalable Quality Solution (SQS).
Liaise with the customer and communicate in a timely manner any issues that may affect their production. Offer advice and feedback, according to the needs of the business.
Complete all required reporting through appropriate systems.
Liaise with internal Atlas Copco departments for offsite activities.
Organize and manage spare parts requirements for the maintained equipment.
Implement 5S processes in the provided workspace – following customer site protocols.
Working as part of the UK Service Team, you will ensure that daily tasks are carried out in a safe manner and to a high standard. All activities must be recorded as per the defined on-site processes using the systems available and ensuring maximum KPIs are achieved. Reporting to the Service Contracts Coordinator, you will be required to :
Ensure all work is carried out with full compliance with site health and safety standards and relevant risk assessments.
Maintain your Workshop working area and rest area to 5S standards. These areas must be clean and tidy at all times.
Attend regular toolbox meetings.
Work toward resolution of the customer's issues, with the support of the service team.
Support Atlas Copco's sales and general service sales activities by developing and maintaining key customer relationships.
Be a reliable addition to the site-based team.
You are based within a commutable distance.
Work Equipment :
You will be provided with all the equipment you require to carry out your tasks including a company laptop and mobile phone.
Shift Pattern :
Monday to Friday – (Days) – 8 hours per day (including 30 30-minute lunch break) Times TBC, with a potential for production startup on Monday. You have a flexible approach to work.
On occasion, there may be a requirement for some weekend work (either a Saturday only or a Saturday and Sunday) depending on the site requirements.
Depending on site activities there may be a need, at the agreement of all parties to adjust working times occasionally.
Some holidays will need to be in consideration of customer shutdown periods. All other leave must be booked in advance with the agreement of both parties.

Qualifications :
- HNC in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent, or proven history within this industry (5yrs plus)
- Have experience in a Manufacturing Environment.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office suite and Windows environment.
- Software, networking protocols and infrastructure
- Experience with PLCs and line control systems
- Know Industrial Power Tools and Spindles i.e. Pneumatic, Battery and DC
- Have knowledge of either a Manufacturing or Customer Service Environment.
- Have experience of providing a Service to customers
- Someone who is willing and able to work alone but also a good team player.
- Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Must have an eye for detail, also drive and commitment to see the job through to a successful conclusion.
- Be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and determined.
- Ability to work as an individual and able to work on their own initiative
- Good communication skills.
