Warehouse Operative

Our client who distributes and stores home furniture and furnishings based in Market Drayton are looking for a number of, full time, temporary to permanent warehouse workers to join their hard-working team.

You will be operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently, performing heavy lifting and manual handling of goods as required, assisting with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory control and utilising the warehouse management system to track stock levels and manage inventory effectively.

This varied role mean that you will be handling materials with care, ensuring proper storage and organisation within the warehouse, loading and unloading goods from lorries, ensuring that all items are handled safely to prevent damage, picking and packing orders accurately for dispatch, whilst maintaining a clear and organised workspace and working with team members to achieve daily operational goals.

Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential.
• Proficiency in operating forklifts is highly desirable; relevant certifications are a plus.
• Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with basic equipment maintenance is advantageous.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly throughout the shift.
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures is beneficial.
• Experience using warehouse management systems for inventory tracking is an asset.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills are essential for managing stock effectively.
• A proactive attitude towards safety practices within the workplace is required.

37.5 Hours a week

Salary

12.30 per hour
