Electrical Engineer

Barocal, a spin-out from the University of Cambridge developing breakthrough cooling and heating technologies. Our technology is based on 15 years of research and may deliver 2-3 times higher energy efficiency compared to traditional systems while eliminating harmful refrigerant gases. Supported by Kiko Ventures, Cambridge Enterprise, Breakthrough Energy, and the European Innovation Council, Barocal's technology is poised to transform entire industries, impacting over 40% of global energy use.

Tasks

• Design & Development : Develop electrical systems and components for experimental and prototype hardware
• Testing & Validation : Measure and evaluate electrical performance using lab instrumentation and data acquisition tools
• Embedded Systems : Develop and implement basic embedded control logic
• System Integration : Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, and product engineers to ensure effective integration of electrical systems within the overall platform
• Prototyping Support : Assemble, test and troubleshoot early-stage lab and field prototypes
• Documentation : Maintain technical records and assist in communicating design intent, test results, and system behaviour
