Responsibilities
- To understand the current and forecast CAD systems, data usage and processes
- To define the ongoing CAD strategy / Roadmap for the client
- Understand the business requirements and pain-points
- Understand the technical requirements for business and IT
- Understand the functional and technical data and system integration requirements
- Understand the various vendor offerings and ongoing product roadmaps
- Coordinate with the business and influence them into using the most appropriate tool / application for each type of data
- Creating metrics for the CAD tools (tool comparison)
- Data types in use across the business to include but not limited toMechanical ComponentsElectrical / EC&I Components & WiringCivil ComponentsPI&Ds & Routing (Electrical / Pipework / HVAC)Model Based Definitions
- Understand and recommend the consumption of CAD data for ; Bill of Manufacture (BOM)Bill of Process (BOP)Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.Essential skills
An excellent understanding of CAD systems data usage and creation and of the technical and data integration to downstream IT systems
Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive CAD strategyDeep understanding of Building Information Management processes, federated models, level of detail and visualization in CAD modelsExcellent project management skillsExperience
