Management Accountant

Overall job purpose

An exciting opportunity to join the internal financefunction (NFO) on a fixed term contract as a Management Accountant at Manager level. The team is responsible for the monthly managementaccounts journals, firm-wide overheads, core function reporting, balance sheetreporting, which includes monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all areassuch as accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, other payables, other receivables,along with ad-hoc projects / reporting.

This is a wide and varied role with strong professionaldevelopment opportunities; the successful candidate playing anintegral part in driving forward the management accountsfunction of the firm; responsible for the development of the junior members ofthe team.

Responsibilities

  • To manage, coach & develop junior colleagues within the team, supporting their professional development, contributing to the wider culture of the team.
  • To play a lead role in managing risk, ensuring the team’s output Balance sheet reconciliations are compliant with both regulatory and internal standards; processes and controls documented.
  • To apply this business understanding to ensure accurate and complete accounting records are maintained; meaningful and insightful management information produced.
  • To be solution-focussed, empowered to challenge existing processes; ensuring they are robust, efficient, and accurate.
  • To undertake specific related projects as agreed.
  • To develop a thorough understanding of the firm’s internal finance reporting systems and methodologies.
  • To promote collaboration with other parts of NFO, ensuring best practice is adopted.

Professional and Personal qualities

  • ACCA, ACA, or CIMA Qualified.
  • IT proficient with strong MS excel skills.
  • A credible individual with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated and able to show initiative.
