Job Description

The Discipline Construction Lead will be responsible for the safe delivery of Mechanical and Pipework works to the North of the River, ensuring the works are delivered right first time, on programme, and within budget.

The Mechanical and Pipework Includes :

  • Above ground 22” CO2 pipeline including the section through the existing Tunnel No 2
  • Above Ground installation (AGI)
  • Above ground and buried 22” Natural Gas pipelines

This role involves leading the planning and delivery of M&P works, providing safety and quality leadership, managing contractors, and working closely with project teams to resolve issues. The position is based full-time on-site in Teesside.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, coordination, and delivery of M&P works north or south of the River
  • Ensure work readiness and control of work procedures for M&P works
  • Coordinate with civil and structural teams for smooth handover and commencement of M&P works
  • Monitor site progress and support contractors in successful delivery
  • Ensure compliance with bp requirements and the Costain way
  • Collaborate with Package Managers to ensure timely and safe delivery of civil and structural facilities contracts
  • Work with HSE and quality teams to meet contract requirements

    • Qualifications

  • Experience as a Project Engineer or Project Manager in Mechanical and Pipework
  • Onsite construction management experience, delivering on time, quality, and budget
  • Knowledge of Safe Systems of Work, Construction Phase Plans, risk assessments, and hazards
  • Experience with pipeline projects in brownfield and live environments
  • Sub-contract management experience
  • Understanding of engineering and construction principles and techniques
  • Proven leadership and team motivation skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Practical, logical, and methodical approach
  • Experience managing technical and program interfaces with related projects
  • Relevant CSCS Card
