Qualification - You will have a qualification in Building Safety and Fire Safety with a track record of success in a similar role within housing.
Casual Car Documentation - The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use.
Driving Licence - The successful candidate should hold a full clean driving licence as you will be required to drive a vehicle adhering to council regulations.

This role will work within the Assets and Repairs team in Housing Services, responsible for carrying out regular post-inspections and audits to ensure compliance with building safety regulations and standards.
The role holder will ensure that remedial actions are being completed to the appropriate standards which includes inspecting systems that keep our residents safe, including emergency lighting, fire alarms, all building safety equipment and the structure of the building itself, to verify their functionality, adequacy and safety. The position will assist in delivering building safety advice and training to raise awareness and promote best practices among building occupants, contractor and colleagues.

In addition to being suitably qualified, you must be able to demonstrate your experience of delivering high-quality building safety inspection services gained in a multi-site, complex environment. You will have a proven track record of achieving and sustaining Building Safety compliance in the post Grenfell era, including experience in conducting fire risk assessments and inspections in residential buildings.
You must be able to evidence your excellent knowledge and proven record of application of current statutory, regulatory, and best practice building safety requirements including Building Safety Regulators, and the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005.
