In the words of the team, you should leave your current role for this one because….

OVO is a fantastic place to work. The company really cares for its people which makes you want to go the extra mile. There is a reason we won Times best place to work! The Procurement & Supplier Management team is on a really exciting journey and it's not every day you get the ability to actively participate in a Supply Chain transformation! OVO felt like home to me after just 2 weeks and I put that down to having such a great team around me"

Where you’ll work :

Depending on the needs of your business area, we expect hub based people to be in the office at least once a week, and to go to OVO Connection events in-person.

You’ll be assigned to the closest one of our three hub offices, Bristol, Glasgow, or London; unless your role requires field-based work. Each hub has accessible spaces to park your laptop, is designed to inspire people, help them connect and bring big ideas to life.

Everyone belongs at OVO

At OVO, we are on a mission to solve one of humanity's biggest challenges, the climate crisis. And we know it takes all of us to change the world. That's why we need diverse people from all gender identities, ethnicities, ages, sexual orientations, life experiences and backgrounds to join us.

Teamworking for the planet

Everything we do here spins around Plan Zero. So, naturally, the team you’ll be joining plays a gigantic role in making that happen. Here’s how :

As an enterprise business OVO’s supply chain presents large risk but great opportunity when it comes to sustainability and wider ESG initiatives. Procurement & Supply Management play a vital role when contributing to OVO’s wider Plan Zero aspirations ensuring we’re working with the right partners and managing risks appropriately.

This role in a nutshell

Reporting to the Operations Category Dept Lead, you’ll be responsible for leading a team of logistics managers, analysts and a category manager to deliver robust supply chain services across a portfolio of meter related assets. This is a critical role, with responsibility for ensuring that asset volumes are optimised to balance working capital, supply chain resilience, customer demand and revenue generation.

Working with your Peopler Leader and other senior stakeholders you’ll set OVO’s supply chain strategy for serialised assets. Your strategy and planning will ensure that OVO’s team of engineers have the meters (and other assets) required to support OVO customers. Your remit will include forecasting of asset demand as well as purchase, warehousing, distribution and sale of assets as well as OVO’s reverse supply chain of removed assets.

Your key outcomes will be…

  • A resilient supply chain that can easily accommodate international, supplier and internal risks. You’ll do this by strategically managing your asset and manufacturer mix, with awareness of OVO’s contractual obligations.
  • Optimised forecasting and ordering processes, which ensure consistent supply, minimized disruptions and optimal stock levels. Your team will keep ahead of industry and other challenges which might impact forecasts and have an awareness of new asset variants and firmware.
  • A team which optimises asset availability for internal and external field engineers through effective SKU management (of 80k monthly unit distributions) and proactive stakeholder engagement.
  • Delivery of sales revenue in the region of £100M annually, in the right ratio to the right purchasing partner. You’ll drive process improvements where there’s value to be added.
  • Optimised and cost effective reverse supply chain processes which mitigate upstream charges for failed or late return.
  • Leading-edge, end to end stock tracking capabilities, either developed internally or through acquisition.
  • Excellent service delivery from OVO’s supply chain & triage 3rd parties, actively managing their performance to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Maximised output from OVO’s triage 3rd party, guaranteeing a commercially effective warranty returns process and best practice sustainable re-use and recycling.
  • Strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, with particular attention to the service you deliver to OVO’s field.
  • Your team will have well defined procedures in place and the capacity to respond promptly and effectively to asset related incidents and / or queries, facilitating swift resolution.

With your people, you’ll…

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering professional growth and ensuring best-in-class supply chain practices.
  • Provide strategic direction to the team, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and long-term plans. Also, align team objectives with OVO’s sustainability goals, championing ethical and environmentally responsible sourcing where required.
  • Collaborate to ensure successful execution of end-to-end supply chain processes. Facilitate knowledge sharing and alignment across the team to standardise processes and ensure consistency.
  • Establish and maintain a culture of continuous improvement within the team, embedding innovative approaches to supply chain delivery.
  • Monitor and report against supply chain performance, ensuring compliance and addressing escalations as needed. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for your team, ensuring accountability and success.
  • Act as a key point of escalation for critical supply chain issues, driving timely resolutions.
  • Additionally, you will :
  • Use data-driven insights to inform team strategies and decisions.
  • Lead by example during RFx exercises, supporting your team in adhering to project management best practices.
  • Present material commercial initiative outcomes to the SLT in collaboration with your team.
  • You’ll be a successful Senior Supply Chain Manager at OVO if you…

  • Are an experienced leader with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Bring deep expertise of supply chain management with exposure to the energy sector as an advantage.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to inspire and guide your team while building collaborative relationships across the organisation.
  • Are adept at strategic thinking, with at least 5 years of experience in supply chain management.
  • Have exceptional analytical skills and can lead your team in using analytical tools to make data driven recommendations.
  • Excel in managing stakeholder relationships at a strategic level, driving performance and fostering innovation.
  • Are committed to sustainability and demonstrate leadership in ethical supply chain practices.
  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with ease.
  • Are a team player with a pragmatic approach, balancing leadership and collaboration effectively.
  • You won’t like this role if you…

  • Are uncomfortable leading on initiatives with high value and corporate exposure
  • Are unable to effectively and reasonably challenge the status quo
  • Are uncomfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback (radical candor)
  • Do not possess strong technical understanding of supply chain best practice
  • Are unable to work effectively across a wider team and influence multiple stakeholders constructively
  • Do not possess strong commercial acumen and an eye for process improvement
  • Are unable to effectively engage with senior stakeholders, internal and external
