Assistant Manager - External Audit

Based in Bishop’s Stortford, this hybrid role sits in a 40 person audit team within a supportive office of 100 staff.

You'll oversee a varied client portfolio including SMEs, charities, academies, and larger groups, with 70% of your time spent on audit engagements and 30% on accounts prep and tax computations.

Key Responsibilities :

Plan and lead audit engagements, on-site and remotely
Review files and coach junior staff
Manage client relationships and resolve complex queries
Ensure work is delivered to deadline and budget
Contribute to ongoing team development and quality improvement

About You :

ACA or ACCA qualified

Solid experience in external audit within a UK accountancy firm

Confident with UK GAAP / FRS 102

Comfortable mentoring junior staff and working directly with clients

Knowledge of Caseware is a bonus
