FPGA Design Engineer – Defence Technology – Cambridge – Up to £80,000

A new opportunity has arisen with a highly innovative engineering organisation based in Cambridge , working at the forefront of radar and surveillance technology for defence and security applications.

They are looking for a skilled FPGA Design Engineer to join their multidisciplinary engineering team and take ownership of the design and development of advanced digital signal processing solutions, used in real-time, high-reliability environments.

This role is office based , offering full involvement in the product development lifecycle, from concept through to implementation, test, and integration. It’s a chance to contribute directly to the development of high-performance systems in an environment that values technical depth and engineering rigour.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design, implement and verify FPGA-based digital signal processing systems using VHDL or Verilog.
• Collaborate closely with embedded software, electronics, and systems engineering teams.
• Contribute to system-level architecture and interface definition.
• Support design verification, testing, and debugging of FPGA modules.
• Ensure designs meet relevant performance, timing, and reliability criteria for deployment in defence applications.
