Full-Time | Term-Time Only | September 2025 Start

The Role – Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant

As a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting both teachers and students in STEM subjects. Your responsibilities will include :

  • Providing  targeted academic support  in Maths, Science or related subjects.
  • Running  small group and 1 : 1 intervention session  to close learning gaps or extend high-achieving students.
  • Assisting in the  planning and delivery of lessons , with the opportunity to lead parts of lessons over time.
  • Helping students develop  strong study habits and revision techniques , particularly in preparation for GCSE and A-Level exams.
  • Creating a positive learning environment that fosters  engagement, confidence, and curiosity  in STEM.
  • Collaborating with classroom teachers and the wider pastoral and academic teams to ensure every student receives tailored support.
  • Who We’re Looking For – Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant

    We welcome applications from graduates who are :

  • Academically strong, with a  2 : 1 or higher in a STEM-related degree  (e.g., Maths, Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science).
  • Confident in supporting students at  KS3 and KS4  (experience at KS5 is a plus).
  • Passionate about education and motivated to pursue a career in teaching or educational leadership.
  • Strong communicators with a professional, proactive, and adaptable approach.
  • Previous experience working with young people—such as tutoring, mentoring, or youth work—is desirable, though not essential.
