About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified or nearly qualified Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychologist to join a well-established, trauma-informed therapeutic service supporting children, young people, and families. This preceptorship role is designed to provide structure, supervision, and developmental support, helping you to consolidate your core competencies and progress toward a Band 8a equivalent role.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering psychological services to children with histories of early trauma, attachment disruption, and neurodevelopmental differences. The role will include therapeutic work, assessment, consultation, and opportunities to build specialist skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver individual, dyadic, and systemic therapeutic interventions.
• Conduct psychological assessments, including for therapeutic need and neurodevelopmental profiles (e.g., Autism).
• Contribute to the psychological understanding of complex cases and offer consultation to professionals and caregivers.
• Support trauma-informed care through training and reflective practice with carers, social workers, and other professionals.
• Keep thorough clinical records and contribute to formal reports when needed.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and planning processes.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and supervision.
