Base pay range

Finance Manager – £40k - £45k depending on experience – Wythenshawe, Manchester M23 9GG

The Role

Are you a qualified finance professional with a sharp eye for detail and a proactive approach to managing financial operations? Are you ready to step into a hands-on role where your expertise can help drive business decisions and financial efficiency?

We are looking for a Finance Manager to join our established manufacturing group. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, you will manage daily financial operations, support strategic financial planning, and supervise an Accounts Assistant to ensure the smooth running of the finance function.

Note : Office hours : Monday to Thursday, 8 : 00am–5 : 00pm, and Friday 8 : 00am–2 : 30pm

Key Responsibilities :

Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and short-term cash flow statements.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.
Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure accurate documentation.
Supervise and support the Accounts Assistant in their daily responsibilities.
Analyse financial data to identify trends and provide insights for decision-making.
Prepare and submit statutory tax returns, including VAT and Plastic Packaging Tax.
Liaise with vendors, customers, and banks on financial matters.
Assist in cost analysis, pricing strategies, and financial planning.

Manplas Limited are a leading supplier of high-quality, custom-made, vacuum-formed components and are UK custom plastic conveyance and design specialists.

Complemented by a highly diligent and experienced technical and production team and a comprehensive range of technical resources at our in-house UK plastic conveyance manufacturing site, we have the capability of delivering complex formings, in a wide variety of engineering thermoplastics, to your most exacting demands. We pride ourselves in being able to assist with the total production from design to the completed product.

The Person

Qualified or Part Qualified (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA)

At least 3 years’ finance experience, ideally within a manufacturing setting

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax compliance

Skilled in Sage and Microsoft Excel

Excellent analytical and organisational skills

Good communicator with high attention to detail

Experience in supervising finance staff is desirable

Knowledge of the e-commerce sector is advantageous but not essential
