The Position

We are seeking a back-end software engineer to join our core team, focusing on our promotions platform that supports all FanDuel products. This role offers an opportunity to work on system optimization, scalability, and performance enhancements as our platform expands.

Responsibilities include :

  • Owning parts of the product and becoming a subject matter expert.
  • Writing clean, testable code following best practices.
  • Participating in code reviews, design discussions, and team planning.
  • Implementing software enhancements to improve our platform.
  • Diagnosing and resolving complex problems, improving software maintainability.
  • Estimating tasks accurately and delivering on time.

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience developing scalable backend systems and APIs with Java.
  • Proficiency in automated testing (unit, integration).
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
  • Understanding of high-volume, critical systems and operational best practices.
  • Familiarity with collaborative software projects and Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of non-relational databases, messaging queues, and concurrency.
  • Awareness of DevOps and CI / CD practices.
