Be an integral part of a team that's constantly pushing the envelope to enhance, build, and deliver top-notch technology products.

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Global Banking Platform (GBP), you are an essential team member working to develop trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner.

We are building the next-generation core banking platform that will operate globally and support hundreds of millions of accounts. Your work will involve cloud-native technologies, microservices development, integrations, dashboards, production support tools, and CI / CD pipelines.

Initially, you will have the opportunity to be seconded to a FinTech software partner, gaining firsthand experience in FinTech operations while being fully supported by JPMC. After this secondment, you will return to JPMC to apply the knowledge, technologies, and practices learned to develop critical services supporting GBP’s cloud migration.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and develop scalable, performant microservices using best practices in software engineering.
  • Write secure, high-quality code.
  • Develop automated unit tests, integration tests, and other testing artifacts.
  • Create architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met.
  • Identify and address hidden problems and patterns in code and data to improve system architecture and coding hygiene.
  • Manage and troubleshoot deployments across testing and production environments.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure structured and coherent feature development.
  • Translate product requirements into trackable development tickets.
  • Contribute to engineering communities and explore emerging technologies.
  • Promote a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proficiency in at least one major programming language : Go, Python, or Java.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Terraform.
  • Experience developing automated tests as part of the development cycle.
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Experience in coding, debugging, and maintaining applications in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database querying languages.
  • Understanding of agile methodologies, CI / CD, application resiliency, and security.
  • Experience with any cloud provider.
  • Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Knowledge of banking or finance sectors.
  • Certifications in AWS, Kubernetes (CKE), and Terraform.
  • Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with client / server architectures, networking, or microservices.
  • Experience with observability tools like Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry.
  • Experience with streaming architectures and tools such as Kafka.
