Network Engineer - Hedge Fund

We’re seeking a Network Engineer to join a Platform Engineering team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in driving change and enhancing our global network infrastructure. You’ll play a key part in maintaining the stability and security of networks, while working closely with development teams to ensure their solutions meet high standards and best practices. As a key member of the Platform Engineering team, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting critical systems that power the business every day. From large-scale office moves and data centre expansions to fine-tuning automation frameworks and cloud integration, you’ll be at the heart of it all. What You’ll Do Build and maintain secure and reliable network systems, collaborating with talented engineers to make sure everything runs smoothly. Dive into automation, using tools like Python, Terraform, and Ansible to improve network efficiency and reliability. Take ownership of ongoing projects, including network upgrades, data centre deployments, and cloud connectivity initiatives. Collaborate with development teams to ensure network solutions fit their needs and support business goals. Contribute to a supportive on-call rotation and help solve issues with minimal out-of-hours disruptions. Who You Are An adaptable network engineer with solid experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex network environments. Confident working with firewalls, VPNs, and data centre switching (Fortigate, Cisco, Arista) and understanding protocols like BGP, multicast, and PTP. Familiar with Linux environments and capable of writing scripts and automating tasks. Comfortable juggling project work and BAU support while keeping an eye out for opportunities to improve systems.
