Tax Manager – Accountancy Practice | Stoke-on-Trent – Up to £60,000 DOE

Our client, a respected and forward-thinking accountancy practice in Stoke-on-Trent, is seeking a Tax Manager to join their growing team. Reporting to the Tax Director, this role combines tax compliance with the opportunity to support and shape a growing advisory function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and review personal tax returns and P11Ds across a varied client portfolio.
  • Provide technical support to junior staff and oversee complex tax matters.
  • Deliver tailored tax and business advice to clients, attending meetings as required.
  • Liaise with HMRC and external bodies to resolve client queries.
  • Support the Tax Director with advisory projects and ad hoc tax planning.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small team.
  • Contribute to internal meetings and business improvements.

    • What We’re Looking For

  • CTA qualified (or equivalent) with post-qualification experience in practice.
  • Strong technical knowledge in personal tax, capital allowances, and Corporation Tax.
  • Experience advising on IHT, CGT, Income Tax, and business structures.
  • Excellent communication skills and a client-focused approach.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Organised, proactive, and confident working independently and in a team.
