Field Trials Manager – Agricultural Crops – Telford - Salary £28,000 – Bonus + Pension & Healthcare Schemes

The Job :

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and skilled Research Agronomist / Field Research Technician to join a leading agricultural research organization. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting field and glasshouse studies across a variety of crops, including cereals, potatoes, oilseed rape, and vegetables. Key responsibilities include conducting R&D activities such as planting, sampling, assessing, recording, analysing, and harvesting crop commodities. You will also support the coordination and execution of high-quality trials, ensuring data is reported accurately and in a timely manner. Additionally, you will handle seed and chemical stocks for field treatments, ensuring the safe and compliant use of all chemicals and maintaining a zero-tolerance policy for contamination.

The Candidate :

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar field trial or agricultural research role
• Degree (BSc or equivalent) in Agriculture, Agronomy, Life Sciences, or related field
• Essential : PA1 and PA6 NPTC certificates
• Full UK driving licence required
• Advantageous : Experience with agricultural machinery
• Computer literate (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Excellent communication skills
• Self-motivated and able to work effectively independently and within a team
• Bonus : Experience in plant pathology, entomology, and fungal biology research
