Overview
Support the Head of Safeguarding in delivering the safeguarding strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance and a child-first approach. Provide expert advice on complex safeguarding issues and manage significant incidents across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deputise for the Head of Safeguarding and support strategic objectives.
- Lead on complex safeguarding cases, liaising with regulators, local authorities, and police.
- Oversee investigations, assess risk, and recommend safeguarding improvements.
- Attend external safeguarding meetings and ensure follow-up actions.
- Build strong partnerships with external agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Identify trends and drive continuous improvement in safeguarding practices.
- Support safer recruitment and staff guidance on safeguarding matters.
Essential Experience & Skills
Background as a LADO or Social Worker with senior safeguarding experience.In-depth knowledge of Early Years safeguarding legislation.Strong risk assessment, analytical, and conflict resolution skills.Proven ability to manage complex investigations and influence stakeholders.Excellent communication, report writing, and team leadership skills.Qualifications
Relevant safeguarding / child protection qualification.Evidence of ongoing professional development.Full, clean UK driving licence.Personal Attributes
