Role Purpose
We have an exciting temporary opportunity available within the People and Culture Team in our Newcastle office. As a People Advisor, you will provide comprehensive and proactive HR support to managers and employees on all aspects of the people life cycle.
You will support our People Partners to deliver an effective people partnering service, contributing to the achievement of our People & Culture team objectives and helping to deliver People initiatives and projects.
Key Responsibilities
Providing practical advice and support to managers on all aspects of the people life cycle in line with our policies, best practice, processes and employment legislation, including performance and absence management, probationary reviews, disciplinary and grievance. Escalating issues to People Partners as required.
Supporting line managers with the performance cycle including setting OKRs and holding performance conversations.
Working with the People Operations team to ensure the smooth running of our processes, providing support on flexible working applications, changes to terms, exit interviews etc where needed.
Facilitation of annual salary review, bonus and promotion processes.
Assisting with the design and roll out of line manager training.
Contributing to the review and design of our policies and procedures.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across the People & Culture team to provide a seamless people experience and support the implementation of business change programmes, taking part in project work as required.
Regular and ad hoc reporting and analysis of data as required, helping to maintain the integrity of our employee data.
Supporting succession planning and actions related to target operating models.
Supporting NorthStandard’s engagement agenda through active and positive promotion of the Principles.
Taking action to improve people services at NorthStandard.
About you
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
CIPD Level 5 qualification or relevant experience.
Previous experience handling HR queries alongside managers.
Working knowledge of UK employment law and a basic knowledge of employment law in Greece and US.
Technical & Soft Skills
Confident in developing professional relationships with colleagues across the business at all levels of seniority, exercising discretion and diplomacy at all times.
Ability to handle challenging conversations.
Able to plan and organise own workload.
Efficient and effective administration skills including good attention to detail.
IT Literate with the ability to quickly adapt to new systems including HRIS.
Starting from £25,000 dependant upon experience
