Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 5 Registered Nurses to join an experienced team caring for Emergency General Surgical patients, within the Acute Surgical Division of Ward 2, with the opening of a Surgical Admissions Unit. We are looking for dedicated and hardworking individuals, who are able to work in a pressurised ever evolving environment. The ward cares for all types of general surgical patients, which will provide you with opportunity to extend your knowledge and skills.
You will have a chance to gain experience working with a variety of specialties, and be responsible for the nursing assessment and care of these will also include the practice of providing pre and post-operative care, to the patients in your care. Your role will involve managing the care of patients undergoing a variety of procedures, involving both local and general Anaesthetics. You will also be expected to work closely within the Multidisciplinary team.

You will be joining a team of dedicated nursing staff who will provide you with all the support you will need to flourish, develop and encouraged to excel. Working as part of our dedicated multi-disciplinary team we will value you, and your contribution to delivering excellent, safe and compassionate care to our patients within the Acute Surgical Specialty.
The ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a flexible approach to work. A commitment to delivering high standards of patient focused care is an essential requirement of the will possess the ability to work on your own initiative whilst working as part of the team, and the ability to develop relationships across professional and Organisational boundaries. The idyllic candidate would have a clear vision for best practice and a reparation for professional innovation
We have a structured team base ethos where we regularly meet and we also hold specific development days which will be underpinned with regular personal appraisals and a development plan. You will have access to further study and opportunities to expand your role in line with service development.
