This role is a finance post within The Public Prosecution Service for Northern Ireland.
Your new role
- Internal Budget Management
- Responsible for budgeting timetables
- Delegation and profiling of opening budgets (in conjunction with DP and Grade 6)
- Prepare and review monthly management reports
- Meet with Budget holders in advance of monitoring rounds and other budget holders on a monthly basis
- Distribution of budgetary reports to budget holders – start of year , monthly and in advance of monitoring rounds
- Preparation of budgetary projection (in conjunction with DP) – in advance of monitoring rounds and updated on a monthly basis for the second half of the financial year
- Prepare analysis reports for annual and strategic planning
- Prepare Journals as and when required
- Liaise with SO in capital budgeting role
- Ad hoc exercises as required.
2. External Budget Management
Prepare Monthly Forecast Expenditure reports for submission to DoF and Treasury by the appropriate deadlinesCED Mapping to be reviewed and maintained weeklyCED Reports to be reviewed and reconciled monthlyMaintenance and updating of RBMTo prepare Monitoring Round submissions and obtain Senior Management approval (in conjunction with DP and Grade 6)Manage budgetary adjustment derived from monitoring rounds – updating the AccountNI Operational and CED Budgets, advising budget holders accordingly.Ad hoc exercises as required3. Business Cases
Drafting and maintaining guidance in respect of the production of business casesSupporting business areas in the production of business casesProvision of training to key staff in thepletion of business casesProvide the in-house challenge function to internal business casesMaintenance of business case log and Approvals Audit TrialWhat you'll need to succeed
Applicants must be fully qualified accountants, having successfullypleted the professional examinations, and be a full Member of one of the following bodies :Chartered Accountants Ireland;The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland;The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales;The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants;The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants;The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and AccountancyThe Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland.AND The post-holder should have at least one year’s experience within the last 3 years within the following areas :
