SEN Teacher

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for an enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join this special school in Haringey. This is a full time, long-term role starting in September and upon review there will be an opportunity to go permanent.

The School :

A successful co-educational maintained secondary special school based in Haringey in North London who provide 165 places for students, mainly from across the borough.

The school is located on the same site as a large secondary mainstream school which enables a range of inclusive group activities to take place between the schools.

Students here experience a wide range of learning challenges, from the highest functioning to the most complex, including general, moderate, complex, severe and profound and multiple learning difficulties. Approximately two-thirds of the school's population have a diagnosis of autism, one third a variety of other needs.

At KS4 all students take a range of fully accredited courses according to their capacity. The majority of students transition to college at year 11, but a small cohort stay on for their Post-16 years where they also take a range of accredited courses.

As a SEN teacher you will be responsible for the below :

• Planning and assessing pupils work
• Differentiating work to accommodate a range of needs
• Working with the support staff to put in place and run interventions
• Updating and setting targets for children.
• Working alongside other professionals in the support network
