Introduction
Our client, a well-established mechanical engineering organization, is seeking a Mechanical Field Engineer to join their team. With expertise in manufacturing and engineering, our client offers complete project services to industries including Petro-Chemical, Oil & Gas, Power, Water, and Pharmaceutical. As a Mechanical Field Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting the CAD engineering and Workshop production department by providing detailed manufacturing drawings, producing piping and steelwork drawings, and creating new designs and concepts.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed manufacturing drawings to assist fabrication, including general arrangements, part drawings, developments, and templates
- Produce piping and steelwork fabrication drawings, such as isometrics, general arrangements, and orthographics
- Adhere to P&IDs when designing pipework drawings
- Review and check detailed design drawings of piping systems, supports, and steelwork in accordance with industry standards, codes, and client specifications
- Survey and produce design drawings for like-for-like equipment replacements and modifications
- Prepare and check bill of materials
- Provide technical input during the detailed engineering of projects
- Support the preparation of manufacturing work packs
- Ensure compliance with ASME and BS EN standards
- Utilize piping design and calculations knowledge where necessary
- Work with 3D models and various tools as required
Job Requirements
Significant experience in understanding petro-chemical piping specifications and conducting site surveysProficiency in creating manufacturing drawings and producing piping and steelwork fabrication drawingsFamiliarity with ASME and BS EN standardsSound piping and steelwork experience in regulated industries such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and CryogenicsFull UK driving licenceComputer literate with knowledge of AutoCAD (advantageous but not essential)Strong understanding of safe working practicesCompany Description
