Job description

Hays Education are currently working on behalf of an academy based in East London - who are looking for a permanent part-time Teacher of Drama to join the Department from September 2024.In the most recent Ofsted inspection, the Academy was rated outstanding in every category. One of the quotes from the report is “"Pupils make outstanding progress from their starting points. Ambitious attainment targets are well on the way to being achieved or exceeded across all key stages and in nearly all subjects." Your new role You will be responsible for the below.

  • Student Progress Monitoring and Support
  • Monitor and support overall student progress and development as a teacher or form tutor.
  • Contribute to raising standards of student attainment within the subject area.
  • Share and support the academy’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for both personal and academic growth.
  • Staff development through continuous professional development.
  • Quality assurance by participating in monitoring and evaluating the subject area.
  • Management of information, including record-keeping and tracking student progress.
  • Participation in the pastoral system, such as being a form tutor for a selected group of students.
  • Ensuring a high-quality learning experience through effective teaching.

What you'll need to succeed

Below are the qualifications and experience required for the teaching position : You must hold a valid right to work status. Qualifications : Hold a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent certificate.Possess a relevant undergraduate degree. Experience : Have successful teaching experience at the secondary level, ideally in multi-ethnic urban schools and in an 11-18 school setting. Knowledge and Understanding : Be knowledgeable about the National Curriculum requirements at Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).Have experience in writing lesson plans, developing resources, and assessing students’ work.
