Warehouse operative – Afternoon

Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment? Look no further! Aligra is currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative to join our client in Avonmouth.

Our client is a leading logistics company that specialises in chilled distribution. As a Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for order picking in a chilled environment. You will work 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, with weekend working required. The rota will be well in advance, so you can plan your life around your work.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including a 10% discount on shopping when you become a permanent member of staff. Set shift 1400-2200 We also offer pay rises at 12 weeks and 27 weeks.

Key Responsibilities :

Order picking : You will be responsible for picking orders accurately and efficiently from the chilled warehouse using a handheld scanner. Attention to detail is key, as you will need to ensure the correct product and quantity are picked.

Quality control : You will be responsible for checking the quality of the products you are picking, making sure they are in good condition and meet the company’s standards.

Stock replenishment : You will be responsible for replenishing stock as required, ensuring that the warehouse is kept in a tidy and organised manner.

Health and safety : You will be responsible for following health and safety procedures at all times, including wearing the correct PPE and reporting any hazards or incidents to your supervisor.

Teamwork : You will be part of a team of warehouse operatives, and you will be expected to work closely with your colleagues to ensure that all orders are picked and dispatched on time.

Skills and Experience :

• Previous experience in a warehouse environment is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
• Good communication skills, as you will need to work closely with your colleagues and supervisors.
• Good attention to detail, as you will be responsible for picking orders accurately.
• Ability to work under pressure, as the warehouse can be a fast-paced environment.
• Good organisational skills, as you will need to keep the warehouse tidy and organised.
