Northpoint are expanding the Mental Health Support Team and have exciting opportunities for 4 new trainee Education Mental Health practitioners.
Main duties of the job
In the role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality mental health support to children and young people, their families and carers, in educational and mental health settings across Calderdale. Providing support to schools to develop their approach to wellbeing will also be a key aspect of the job.
You will join us on a permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary, and the training and development to equip you for the role of an Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) once qualified, after a 12-month university and work-based placement.

Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioner programme :
In line with the government's priority to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people, the role is an exciting opportunity to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors.
We are looking to recruit 4 trainees to join our Calderdale team.
Successful candidates will attend an educational programme in Sheffield for two days per week, with the remaining time being spent within schools and the service.
The training programme is due to start in February 2025 and is 12 months in duration.
Following successful completion of the one-year programme, you will be offered a permanent position paid at NHS Agenda for Change Band 5 salary.
All applicants must demonstrate in their application the ability to work at degree level or have an equivalent level of relevant experience, with a proven record of previous learning or formal study in child development, wellbeing or mental health.
Delivery of the programme will be provided through a combination of taught days within university, independent self-guided study days and experience gained in education wellbeing and mainstream mental health services.
