Job description

Due to continued commercial success, EPS is looking to recruit a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join its growing Engineering Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Graduate Electrical Engineer to join this highly respected consultancy team. The team delivers leading-edge technical consultancy in Power Systems Analysis, Arc Flash, and Electrical Engineering. The base location will be at our Teesside regional office but may rarely require UK travel to customers in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Manufacturing, and Energy sectors. The successful candidate will work closely with and alongside our Lead Electrical Engineer, who will provide training, support, and guidance as required, including formal training in power system modelling software such as ETAP, DIgSilent, and CDEGs.

Duties

Conduct electrical design and produce specifications and datasheets for LV and HV assets.
Develop skills in power system modelling software, ETAP, and undertake studies like load flow, short circuit analysis, protection coordination, transient motor starting, and arc flash studies.
Participate in site surveys, including soil resistivity testing.
Interpret client requirements to prepare technical solutions.
Maintain regular communication with clients, providing project updates and technical reports.
Assist in preparing commercial and technical proposals.

Experience & Qualifications

A passion for electrical engineering is preferred; comprehensive mentoring will be provided. Knowledge of onshore and offshore electrical engineering in Oil & Gas, power distribution, wind energy, manufacturing, and petrochemical industries is advantageous but will be gained during the EPS mentoring program. Proficiency in spreadsheets, problem-solving, and client support is essential. A minimum of a 2.1 Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar from a recognized university is required. Experience with power system modelling software is a plus.
