Job summary

Portsmouth Hospitals Neonatal Intensive Care Unit are excited to be able to expand their senior nursing team and have vacancies for experienced registered neonatal nurses.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Working on a Level 3 Bliss accredited tertiary neonatal intensive care unit you would experience caring for some of the most complex and pioneering medical care, including total body cooling, HFOV, Nitric Oxide Therapy and Laser ROP. You will also have access to extended role development in retrieval and neonatal life support, alongside rotational opportunities in Neonatal Outreach, Family Integrated and developmental care, Infant feeding, Education and Research teams.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Current RN + / - RN, registration with NMC and any other relevant post registration qualifications.
  • BSc Degree in relevant field.
  • Post Reg. qualifications for specialty area (QIS).
  • Leadership development programme.
  • Teaching qualification / experience and accredited NMC before mentorship course.

Desirable

  • Masters degree and evidence of working towards.
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Significant demonstrable experience within specialty in level 3 NICU with evidence of professional development.
  • Evidence of team leadership and change management with relevant management / leadership course.
  • Managing resources and contributing to departmental budget.
  • Evidence of developing policy, guidelines and managing resources.
